Kathleen
tells us: "Universal Gift" is inspired by the photos taken by the
Hubble telescope. I think this may be as close as I can get to painting
a picture of God. It could be argued that the universe is not actually
God, but simply an example of God's creation. However, it is so vast
and magnificent that I feel a sense of religious awe.
I have created an entire series of paintings inspired by the immense
space and incredible drama of the universe. In addition to multiple
layers of thin acrylic washes, many of these paintings include metallic
gold paint, gold glitter and silver glitter that capture the endless
reflections of light from stars, cosmic gases and interstellar
