A tragedy beyond imagination exploded before our eyes on September 11, 2001. Struggling to understand, we ask what the date chosen by the perpetrators of this massive affront to humanity can tell us.
Perhaps the most immediately striking aspect of the date, of course, is that 911 in this country means "urgent -- emergency," like the Morse code "SOS" did for over 100 years.
The 11th day of any month is associated with passions that are intense, extreme and without reason. There is a tendency associated with the 11th day to impose one's own code of morals on others, without regard to human frailties. The 11, while it is a master number, is a vibration of extremes. Coupled with the vibration of the month in which this day occurs -- 9 -- the emphasis is on universality, wide ranging effects, personal loss. But these are only part of the picture, because we must also consider the year vibration, 3. This is certainly a mitigating factor, for it reflects life, creativity, vitality and quick recovery.
Neither numbers nor stars and planets DIRECT our lives. Rather, they REFLECT our intentions. The events of September 11, 2001 mark both endings and beginnings. I thought that was summed up poignantly by the birth of the daughter of a New York firefighter on the same day her father died trying to save people at the World Trade Center. Her mother named her Hope. Her life path is 23/5. As a 5, this signifies freedom, change and adaptability. The 23 is the vibration of the freedom fighter who loves people and fights for causes -- and who is cautioned to be realistic in that quest. We are all joined with Hope as we move forward on the path begun on September 11, 2001.

We express in art that which is too deeply felt for adequate expression in words.
